A Coping Mechanism for Cold Weather

Many cozy nights outdoors are ahead thanks to this baby...

This is our first fire pit (thanks to my Grandma's hubby!), so we lit it on Sunday night for the first time and enjoyed the brisk weather along with hot apple cider (me) and rum (Simon).

Simon cheesing :)

I can't wait to have loved ones over and roast marshmallows (maybe even make s'mores), wrap up in blankets, drink hot chocolate and have wonderful chats around the fire.  Since it sits pretty low, I'm thinking about getting some floor cushions to place around.

Here's a polyvore mood board that I created showing what I'm looking forward to now that we have the fire pit!

Do any of you have fire pits?

  1. My husband wants a fire pit bad!! i'm sure we'll get one for next summer! Can't wait :)

  2. I know I have to get one, they are so nice. My x had one at his home in Helen and it was so nice especially being in the Mountains with the pit going on a nice Autumn night. Mrs. Chic, I really hope you don't try doing a pit next summer, you are gonna burn up. It's works a lot better when the weather is cold. :)

  3. I love sitting out by the fire pit! My friend usually has an event every year at the beginning of Fall and we all sit around and roast (burn) marshmallows and make s'mores. So fun! You have to share photos of the floor cushions once you get them! :)

    1. Yes, I am so looking forward to "burning" marshmallows! I'll definitely post pics of the cushions when I get them :)

Thanks for visiting Myers Maison!
