After checking in we ate lunch at a place located in Centennial Olympic Park called Googie Burger (the little building towards the bottom of the above image with a pyramid-like top). I'd never heard of them, but the food was great! The onion rings were HUGE! They looked like doughnuts to me.
After lunch we walked around Centennial Olympic Park. Embarrassing enough to say, this park has been here since 1996 (built for the 1996 Olympics) and this was my first time visiting. It's a huge park and is very beautiful. I loved it!
In the evening we were surprised by the hotel with an anniversary card, cheesecake and champagne for two! So delicious and such a nice gesture.
I also had to get a few beautiful sunset shots.
We ate dinner that night at the hotels restaurant. Simon had the lamb chop and I had salmon. After dinner I had a taste for an espresso, and that was delicious as well! (excuse the dark images, the lack of light was a part of the ambiance!)
Furniture that was located in a breezeway. I loved this! |
We also took a similar photo to one that I took on our wedding night in the elevator. Since we were back, I had to get this shot!
The next morning we ordered room service. The eggs benedict (which I had been wanting for a while) was incredible!
For the rest of the weekend we were at home relaxing, watching movies and resting. A lovely weekend if you ask me!
If you ever come to Atlanta, I highly recommend the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. You will love it! Request a corner room in the North Tower. You won't be sorry.
p.s. If you missed our wedding day and honeymoon recap that I posted last year, check it out here.
Happy Belated 4th Anniversary! Glad that you all had an enjoyable time.
