May events: Mother's Day

Hey there!  I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend.  Now it's just a little over a month to the next day off of work!

May has been an incredibly busy month!  To catch you all up on what's been going on I'm going to post about May all this week.

First stop is Mother's Day.  Here's my lovely Mother.

We didn't tell her anything except to be ready to head to my house at 10:00am.  My sister and I made brunch which consisted of Croissant French ToastShirred Eggs and Mimosas.

Next, we headed to a surprise activity in which we made our own fragrances!  The place that we went to is called Blend.  It was a great time, and we learned a lot about fragrance making.  I created a fragrance that was a mixture of floral, fruity and musk.

Later that evening we went to my Grandma's house for drinks.  I found these great recipes for homemade caramel coffee syrup and sugar cubes, so I decided to make them for her.  I used raw sugar for the sugar cubes.  They both turned out great!  I made the labels from craft paper and cut a fancy design on the edges thanks to my fancy scissors.  The lavender ribbon added a nice pop of color.  I also gave her a spout so that she can easily pour the syrup.

I made chalkboard martini glasses for my Mom since she liked the wine glasses that I made (no pictures, but for reference they look like this; two were pink and two were black).
We also got my Mom and Grandma some cupcakes from Jilly's Cupcakery.  They were delicious!

May was off to a great start!
